Landscape Architects Continuing Education 2009

"Florida Yards and neighborhoods: Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Tools you can Use" is designed to give participants the practical, hands-on knowledge and design concepts they need to create Florida-Friendly Landscapes that conserve water, protect water quality and enhance wildlife.

Participants leave the training with copies of Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ plans they create and can use immediately in their new and existing projects.
Participants roll up their sleeves in an interactive session to use what they learn during segments on water-conserving gardens, including very important "right plant, right place" concepts; stormwater gardens, including specifics on rain garden design and wildlife enhancement gardens.

Participants "get the edge" over other landscape architects who have not taken this class. Clients often wonder, "Where do I even begin to create a Florida-Friendly Landscape?" In addition to using plans in new projects, the training equips participants with specialized tools on how to work with their clients to retrofit existing landscapes over time. Finally, participants walk away with specific, technical design concepts and add to their marketing niche on how to earn points in green certification The class is designed by landscape architects for landscape architects, and taught by highly-qualified, UF/IFAS Florida Yards and Neighborhoods and horticulture agents who have extensive working, practical knowledge of right plant, right place concepts---key to making Florida-Friendly Landscaping work.
