course describes why the remodler should be concerned
about lead, related laws, where lead can be found,
lead testing, personal protective equipment, how to
contain lead dust in the work place, how to plan the
work and supervisry/business issues. (CILB/BCAI 0008174;

Low
Impact Development(LID) Practices for Florida: Stormwater
–Includes
an overview of Florida's fast growing urbanization,
its impact on water quality and quantity, and the
laws regulating these issues. Low impact development
stormwater practices are covered in detail including:
conveyance and treatment (swales, curb cuts, bioretention,
etc.), volume controls (permeable pavements, exfiltration,
green roofs, etc.), resource efficient irrigation
(soil moisture sensors, stormwater reuse, etc.), and
nutrient source controls (Florida-friendly landscapes,
operations and maintenance, etc.). (FBPE 4040 / BOLA

My
Safe Florida Home The
first part of this presentation is intended to provide
background information on wind characteristics, wind
and building/structural interaction and common terms
associated with structural design for wind loads.
It will also introduce the My Safe Florida Home (MSFH)
Program that was established by the Legislature to
help Floridians identify how they can strengthen their
homes against hurricane force winds and to reduce
hurricane damage exposure in our state. The second
part of this presentation is to provide a process
for assessing the current condition of a residential
building and providing an outline for potential cost
effect measures to strengthen the home. The My Safe
Florida Home procedures will be provided and those
participants who wish to take part in the program
can voluntarily take the certification exam following
the class. (AR 9877572; CILB/BCAI 0009617; FBPE exp
