My Safe Florida Home The first part of this presentation is intended to provide background information on wind characteristics, wind and building/structural interaction and common terms associated with structural design for wind loads. It will also introduce the My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) Program that was established by the Legislature to help Floridians identify how they can strengthen their homes against hurricane force winds and to reduce hurricane damage exposure in our state. The second part of this presentation is to provide a process for assessing the current condition of a residential building and providing an outline for potential cost effect measures to strengthen the home. The My Safe Florida Home procedures will be provided and those participants who wish to take part in the program can voluntarily take the certification exam following the class.
